VerseRelay (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address and organisation name. We do not collect your name, phone number, or payment details directly — payment is handled by our payment processor (Stripe) and we only receive a subscription status.
If you choose a cloud speech-to-text provider (Azure Cognitive Speech or AssemblyAI), your audio is transmitted to that third-party provider according to their privacy policies. If you use the offline Whisper engine, audio is processed entirely on-device and never leaves your machine.
2. How we use your data
- To authenticate your account and manage your subscription
- To deliver app updates and critical service notices
- Aggregated, anonymised usage analytics to improve the product
We do not sell your data to third parties.
3. Data storage
Account data is stored in encrypted databases hosted on Microsoft Azure within the EU. Session transcripts and sermon data are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly trigger a cloud sync feature.
4. Third-party services
We integrate with the following third-party services:
- Azure Cognitive Speech — optional cloud STT
- AssemblyAI — optional cloud STT
- OpenRouter — optional AI quote refinement and sermon summary
- Stripe — subscription billing
- Cloudflare R2 — app binary distribution
5. Your rights
You may request export or deletion of your account data at any time by contacting privacy@verserelay.com. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be notified via email or an in-app banner. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
